Wisdom from The Wu
Decades of Wisdom from the Wu. By Nina Yin Vestergaard
Growth, Spirituality and intensifying Stories. Is what comes to mind when I think of Wu Tang Clan. Still today I’m admiring them from “My borough” in Vancouver Canada.
Peace Salaam to the Abbott: Shokran Rza Thank you for all that you have done for me. “The dumb are mostly intrigued by the drum” was the case when I was 12 but I have grown up and am realizing / have realized the potential of myself; no longer scared of my own power and spirituality.
My tattoo of the Wu Tang with a lotus flower becomes more and more important in my life every day; located on my right ribcage where it is said Buddha’s mother was touched by the elephant to conceive him. The video made in Vancouver on the recent Wu tour by my friend Nardwaur and possibly my teacher Fred interviewing Rza in particular where you spoke of the lotus flower… you were speaking to me.
Wu Forever and 36 chambers as well as Killa Beez been were bought for me at an extremely young age. I bought “Digital bullets” a year later, playing the Wu Tang video game which I’d have my lil group of friends come play. I put a big Wu on the basketball hoop at my school and it remained there for many years.
A better tomorrow is the new shit but I’d like to talk about the book written by Rza : The Tao of Wu, it had many Zen type/ Buddhist type stories; true stories! Sories you learn from and have to really think about…and the chicken bone story I could feel on my teeth, or the sad yet heartwarming story about your family moving into the new hood and getting robbed and finding out why so much later down the road.
Rza speaks with peta and his views on being vegan was extremely powerful. These animals are stressed in captivity, when you eat that meat, your eating that stress,”. I appreciate your activism and outspoken attitudes that carries on forever. I recently bought a Quaran for something I’ve never read. Wu Tang got me back into using my time wisely, call me back at the God hour.
Throwing up the W….My birthday turning 21 I was watching Rza perform with Stone Mecca his upcoming album “Digi Snacks” plus all the wu classics in a small club in downtown Vancouver called Richard’s on Richards.. It was beautiful.
Can it all be simple was a song amount many others I was obsessively listening to and watching the videos. I also watched the home videos in the projects; Gunshots and homicide. Shaolin Island. Videos meth made talking about the corrupted world we living in and how we should be preparing ourselves.
But there’s another side… “Good night. Here’s a kiss. Sleep tight and make a wish… “Beautiful. I regard Rza as the best hip hop producer simply because of the talent and style that resonates in my soul.

The Blueprint
The pen slowly glides along the paper, it completes the secular void of lines. It creates the books inner dreams and inhibitions. It defines the purpose and life of the creator.
My journal: my harness of inner energy and means of self justification. I use it to control my past, present and future; it acts as a portal to my hopes dreams and fantasies.
Even to me I am unclear of whom I am and what I will become, so it’s important to create:

Fung Shui: Balancing energy in home and life.
My girlfriend got me a Fung Shui book for Christmas and not long after the intro the author explained that the closet… ” No! Not the closet!” It’s energy would be negative on my life; chaotic if messy. The mess, the mess! ….The closet… it was a mess…. I ran into the bedroom! Folded everything neatly and placed the clothes against the wall (we just moved in) and breathing a sigh of relief I sat down and picked up the book again; feeling calmer than before; Flowing Chi.
There’s a chi story in the book.
“A man has to stoop under an overgrown branch to get in his front door. He doesn’t trim the branch, and has to stoop every day for a year to get in his door. Soon he begins to walk in a stooped posture everywhere he goes. One branch in need of trim has changed a mans gait. His stoop leads to illness, loss of work, and financial problems.
Now the man’s neighbor comes to the door with fresh vegetables from his garden. The branch hinders the neighbors easy access to the door, so instead of putting his basket down and stooping to get to the door, he decides to take his produce to someone else. What’s more, the neighbor leaves with the impression that the man isn’t very friendly. Why would he let the branch grow in front of his door if he were? He decides that he won’t visit the man again. In the days that follow, the neighbor mentions his experience to several people. Each time the story is told it gets more exaggerated, with everyone concluding that the man is an embarrassment to the neighborhood because of his poorly kept property and unwelcoming demeanour.

Fung shui is acquired knowledge and perception of yin and yang as well as the 5 elements flowing chi’. This is very new to me. The above chart is a little over my head and probably more geared towards chi as a whole and not as a flowing space called home. But I like to view Chi’ in a simple way: Simple energies; creating a place to be productive, spiritual, happy…. far from a zen or fung shui master, I try to balance room; and thus is all I have practiced so far.
I find it similar to my zen studies as not to be messy, enjoy change and every moment and that everything has its order and it’s place. Fung shui teaches us that the energy is important; causing effects on all aspects of our lives, moving and flowing through the elements and I’m starting to see and understand, (a little).
Cleaning and arranging can be a spiritual and enjoyable processes if you let it be, “every step in life you may only take once,”. – Zen saying.

An open letter to my love.
It’s 6:50 AM. I’m feeling pretty good, I love the early mornings and they say its a good time to be creative because the subconscious mind is still active; naturally I go to the computer and begin writing. As I do every morning so it often gives me dejavu. Thinking about my girlfriend and what she means to me.
The coffee is made and she’s sound asleep in the bedroom. We saw star wars last night and it was really nice to finally got to see something in theaters because we watch movies obsessively; it’s almost absurd. I love her with all my heart, she likes to say “no you dont”, when I tell her I do. It’s a cute game. One of many; such a tease. Laughing as I type.*
Both of our lives shifted and changed in a huge way when we met; slowly at first but it seems as though we’ve moved mountains in this cherished blip in time. I’m moved in many ways; changed for the good. True love moves mountains and I feel blessed. Here I am; writing away with her as my inspiration. Codependent in a productive fashion, we like to set goals and 99% of the time we reach them, we are like an unstoppable force. At least that’s how I feel.
Alike and polar opposites, a perfect balance of attraction; opposites attracting, yin and yang. The law of attraction we both believe in. She thinks she has bad luck and I think I have good luck ,so we can sit in harmony together; our lives balanced in opposition but also in love. She pushes me to keep going in all my art forms and avoid wasting my time and energy on useless “shit”. I’m a slow learner and she is quick, so I appreciate when she can see the storms coming before I can.

Yin; within.
When we practice sacred sexuality we are working with cosmologically rooted principles, balancing the heavenly yang (male energy) of the universe with the all-knowing, life-giving yin (feminine energy) of the earth.
Harder, better, faster, stronger.
So special what you have given to me:
Keeping me in company and inspired when I’m without you. These literary splendors that I wanted without even knowing it. Sometimes I think you know more about me than I do. I’m not really ever feeling alone, even when your gone “I was just about to call you” … “I’m reading the books you bought for me,”…
Growing because of it, picking them up, writing, picking them up, writing , but as you know it’s ever so slowly how my learning process works, ever-changing and emotional, but you ground me, I can’t thank you enough. Simply enjoying um…. everything!
You like to read but wouldn’t admit it so, I called you on it :P…..Proud of you and always have been so give your self some credit. My oblivious attitude or Inclinclinations to only hear what I want to hear…. a little ashamed knowing now how lucky that I really am, a little spoiled, but in the good ways, the kind that builds up a person stronger, and a relationship stronger.
I like reading to you, poetry, literature and articles, I never really had someone that would “listen” to me and it felt like a curse. We watch documentaries even if they are bootlegged and blurry, just so we can learn and grow; heartbreaking and heartwarming cycle. I think everything is a cycle; like an ocean tide or the sunset. Artistically or. Visually. Sending you my love.
