Freights

Trains are a subconscious obsession

I ride them nightly in my dreams

It is symbolic by all means to me yet

I do not know what it means

Freight trains that loop around a city in my mind

What is this obsession?

Graffiti and train yards

My love for art and adventure

In real time I hear the trains in my neighborhood

Passing through, choo choo

All I dream about is trains

Running the city in a loop.

Arrival.

I have arrived from another place another time

Hidden in the stars and in the drifting clouds in the sky

Somewhere in the world’s between worlds

In the Subconscious; in the serene blur

In the complex of simplicity; I have arrived here

In my awakening the clouds crack with thunder and lightning

As I am from far above the oceans and moons and Sun

This place is sacred as well and I shall roam; call it home

Until it is the end and the time for me to go

You will know my love for life; my life is love

I’m here

It’s the morning again; my favorite time to write poetry

My wife lay asleep across the room on our bed

Although things have been hard, I am optimistic

I’ve shown myself a better path, so my walk is easier

At least in the now; that fact remains

I have to continue to be mindful of the future

And live present in each moment; one after the next

I take a deep breath and ground myself; I’m alive

I remember an anxious moment yesterday

And knowing that to live is to suffer

But that thought passed; as all thoughts and moments do

I close my eyes; to simply shut them.

Makes me calm. Collected. Present.

And I take another breath.

Where I’m going doesn’t matter; now is time

I can build towards anything; but nothing is promised

So I do not attach myself with the future

I shall cut my ties with worry and sorrow

In this pitch black sky; I am here
